Best of… February 11

We are starting to see a bit of a change in the weather and my mind is already drifting towards Summer… which I hope to be spending in ripped denim, oversized shades (these ones) and perhaps a pale pink boyfriend shirt, like this one, spotted on A Lovely Escape:

There were some other posts I took some inspiration from this month too… Alma returned to Paris this month (after spending some time living and posting from New York) and proved my theory that everyone looks their best in Paris.

I fell in love all over again this month with Rumi’s wardrobe, and haphazard way of throwing everything together and coming out looking perfect:

But in particular, I fell in love with this dress she wore from Versus (not quite her usual style I think):

Right now, I am on the lookout for the perfect pair of black or charcoal grey harems. Any ideas? Don’t these ones look good? (from Facehunter):

Helloooooo Friday!  What is everyone up to for the weekend?

Tomorrow morning, Lorraine, Roisin and I will be packing up my car and heading to Dublin.  I’m considering taking a longer route than necessary, so that we can do a bit of shopping in Kildare Village Outlet and eat here.

Thing #99: Inspire another person to make a Day Zero List

Some people who know me quite well might have guessed that the first thing ticked off my list would involve me doing nothing except writing and publishing the list.  And waiting for people to be inspired. 

Fiona was inspired and she wrote a Day Zero List too.

You might notice that Fiona is a little more productive than her sister, and has already started ticking things off her list.

Some of my favourite things on Fi’s list include asking your friends what their favourite books are and reading them, going to Sicily, learning a new word a day (she has bought a calendar like this one to help her along), camping in a VW van and ALL of the cooking and baking related ‘things’!

Good luck with your list Fi! (and hooray for the first thing ticked off mine).

Fun Pix Fridays #10

By Candlelight

I’ve become a little obsessed with lighting candles of late. 

Candles are supposed to relax us, right?  But you’ll have to excuse me because I’ve only recently discovered the direct correlation between lighting candles and my own relaxation and general sense of well-being. 

I’ve been doing everything I can by candlelight. Dinner, chilling out and watching TV, showering… right now I am blogging by candlelight.  I keep a stock of candles in the top drawer of my bedside locker and feel a little panicky when I’m down to my last one (a feeling similar to when the petrol light goes on in my car).

Aaaanyway, I’m rambling and getting off the point.  The best candles are scented… and some of the best scented candles are Yankee Candles.

Here are the top ten candles currently on my ‘to burn’ list:

p.s. I find these a little pricey for everyday burning.  If you are savvy like me, pick up lovely travel candles in French Lavender and Clean Cotton for €1.50 each at Penneys.
