Thing #91: Don’t use my car for a week

I accidentally checked this off my list.

Actually, I accidently completed this thing many times over- if I had known, I would have made it into something special; ‘Don’t use my car for a month’ or ‘Don’t use my car for a year’ even?  Except I’ll probably rent a car pretty soon and I think that would be cheating.

For those of you who don’t already know, I moved from Ireland to Ruwais, Abu Dhabi this year (Read back and catch up please!).  The transition has been going pretty smoothly, except for the absence of a few home comforts- driving or any means of getting around independently being one of them.

On the plus side, I ticked this off my Day Zero List and I didn’t even have to try!

€5 has been donated to the Irish Red Cross for the completion of this ‘thing’.  Click here if you too would like to donate online.

i know how you feel. i haven't driven since moving to italy because they make you go to car school and learn and take an exam all over again if you're from outside the E.U.

Cheers!

we've gotten used to not having a car and now it's a pain when we do, we have to find parking and pay for it! ugh! but, i do miss riding around with the windows down and the music up!

OOh, it would be difficult without a car!

It's great to hear that you're having a great time in your transition. Hmmm... it's quite tough to go around town without a car. Well, I hope you have a great time there in Abu Dhabi.

Hmmm, it would have been better if you brought your car to Abu Dhabi, but I'm sure it would have made the move more difficult. =) I guess you'll have to find an affordable car rental. Good luck!
